#7. Eliminating Fears During Performance
Whenever I have asked the following question at over 300 various Music Conservatories and Universities throughout the world, almost everyone raises his or her hand. The question is; “How many of you have ever been depressed or angry and then after playing your instrument for a few minutes discovered that the anger or depression has subsided”? The fact is…music is healing!
The first step to eliminate the fears and nervousness on the bandstand: we have to ask ourselves the question prior to playing…what is more important, the nervousness and fears or the music?
