This course is designed for a musician who is at the beginning of the Jazz journey. It talks about basics of jazz improvisation and covers variety of aspects essential for any beginning jazz musician.

  • Where to start?
  • What to play and listen?
  • How to practice?
  • How to hear?

These and many additional questions will be answered during the classes. Some of the topics that will be discussed include:

  • Chord and Scale Theory
  • Guide Tones
  • Enclosures
  • Listening and Hearing
  • Time and Swing Feel
  • Blues
  • ii-V-I progression.

The course includes 8 sessions. There are 3 pre-recorded classes and 1 live session, then another 3 pre-recorded classes and 1 final live session.
