KIKO SEBRIAN

Kiko Sebrian, drummer, percussionist and composer, studied Brazilian Instrumental Music (with strong focus on Hermeto Pascoal’s Universal Music approach), Brazilian Folk Music and Jazz at Conservatorio de Tatuí (SP/Brazil), Bachelor of Brazilian Popular Music at Unicamp (SP/Brazil), FIPSE/CAPES exchange student at the University of Cincinnati, and pursued his Master in Jazz performance at the University of Louisville.

Since 2005 has been working professionally in various settings and styles, specializing in Brazilian Popular Music, Jazz, Brazilian Instrumental Music and Independent Music.  Sebrian has been based in Louisville since 2015, being part of the Midwest jazz community performing as drummer and percussionist. He has performed alongside Mike Tracy’s Hora Certa brazilian group, Brazukas, Phil the Greg and many other consolidated musicians from our scene. As band leader, Sebrian showcased his quartet at 2017 and 2018 Jazz in Central Park’s Smooth and Gospel Jazz festival.  Also working within the Independent Music universe seeking the textures from the digital era. Mixing everything but always carrying in his baggage the rhythms and the culture of his homeland, Brazil.
